Our mission

Helping people see eagles as wildlife—not just symbols.

Lions of the Sky is a Utah nonprofit dedicated to public understanding of birds of prey, eagle biology, ecology, natural history and wildlife conservation.

Our purpose

Connect knowledge, experience and stewardship.

We bring people face to face with the scale, power and complexity of eagles, then turn that attention toward conservation.

Our programs explain how eagles function as predators, what healthy habitat provides, why laws protect native wildlife, how human activities affect eagle survival and why nonreleasable birds require lifelong professional care.

Our goal is not simply for an audience to remember seeing an eagle. It is for them to understand the eagle—and care what happens to wild eagles afterward.

What guides us

Four commitments shape every program.

Conservation first

The educational purpose is defined before an eagle is included.

Welfare first

The eagle’s physical and behavioral needs take priority over schedule or visibility.

Accuracy

Programs focus on sound biology, ecology, natural history and responsible stewardship.

Public service

The organization exists to benefit the general public, not private possession or commercial promotion.

What makes live education different

A powerful teaching tool—used with restraint.

Photographs and video can explain an eagle. A living eagle can help an audience understand scale, anatomy, presence and vulnerability in a way that is difficult to reproduce.

That power creates an obligation. Eagles are never presented as pets, decorations, mascots or unrelated marketing props. They appear only within structured conservation education, under trained control and separated from the public.

A mission lived over time

Public education has taken many forms.

A lasting institution

Built to continue beyond one caretaker or one event.

Lions of the Sky is the legal nonprofit responsible for its public mission, resources, records, programs and organizational continuity.

The organization is developing the governance, funding, care systems, training and succession planning required to sustain both public education and lifelong eagle stewardship.

Our vision

A community that understands eagles well enough to protect them.

We envision expanded school partnerships, more publicly accessible programs, stronger conservation curricula and an enduring home for nonreleasable eagle ambassadors.
